We’re a hybrid indie studio based in Mexico City exploring a racquetball video game in partnership with a global star. This is a high‑pressure, fast‑execution project with a late‑February target for a first playable prototype. We were developing something different, so either we start from scratch, or reuse our current Dream of Darkness (DoD) assets.

We’re looking for a Creative Director who can lead online introverts, crystallize vision under pressure, and sell that vision from politicians to publishers.

Compensation

~$13,000 MXN per month, according to criteria fit

When funding is secured, compensation will increase accordingly.

What This Role Is About

You will take a partially formed creative vision and shape it into a funding‑ready playable prototype under time pressure.

You will:

  • Lead a mostly remote, introverted team

  • Eliminate silence, delays, and ambiguity

  • Be the person ultimately responsible for:

    • Speed

    • Discipline

    • Delivery

    • Accountability

This is not a “vision only” creative role. It is a hands‑on execution role.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lock scope and produce a funding‑ready prototype in 60–90 days

  • Convert a loose vision into a clear, controlled GDD

  • Run:

    • Weekly sprints

    • Daily async reporting

    • Strict 48‑hour response rules for the team

  • Kill scope creep and feature fantasies

  • Coordinate production with real‑world promotion timelines

  • Handle and negotiate external stakeholders’ requests (talent, partners, publishers)

  • Ensure the prototype is presentable for funding pitches and events

Non‑Negotiable Profile

You:

  • Have a concise communication style – you don’t ramble

  • Have shipped at least one game

  • Have led remote teams

  • Are deadline‑driven

  • Are not conflict‑avoidant

  • Are comfortable:

    • Enforcing performance

    • Replacing non‑deliverers

    • Working under public‑figure visibility

  • Enjoy going to non‑games events and can easily make friends outside the games industry

This role is not for first‑time directors or “idea‑only” creatives.

Location & Working Style

  • Based in Mexico City

  • Hybrid / remote

  • High availability for online and offline events

  • Zero tolerance for ghosting

Success Criteria

If in 90 days you have not delivered:

  • A playable funding prototype

  • A stable production pipeline

  • A disciplined team rhythm

…then you have not succeeded in this role.
